Little Hands, Big Hearts

Little Hands, Big Hearts focuses on involving our children in community service and helping others. Throughout the year, we will work on service projects that benefit other mothers and children within our community.

September: Planting a Memory

Lend a helping hand (and your green thumb too!) as we honor former MOMs president, Brenda Yeamans, by planting tulip bulbs at Oakwood area schools. Kids of all ages are encouraged to participate in this hands-on project as we’ll need help with digging, planting and watering.

October: Halloween Party

Bring all your little ghosts and goblins to the MOMs Halloween party! The party will include a book/costume drive and some members of the Burundian community in Dayton will also join us for the party. Stay tuned for more details and dates.

November/December:

            Food Drive

Help stock the shelves of area families this season by donating non- perishable items. Beginning in November, items can be dropped off at Katlyn DeLong’s house.

Adopt-a-Family

Continue the spirit of holiday giving by participating in the Adopt-a-Family program.

January:  Blankets of Warmth
Join us for this cozy get together where kids will be helping kids! We’ll be making fleece blankets that will be donated to Children’s Hospital.

February: Book Drive

Do you love to read?  Share your love of books by donating to our Book Drive.  Books will be collected and donated to YWCA Dayton.

March/April: Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House provides temporary housing to serve families of critically ill children in the Dayton area. Help us fill the house by collecting some of their “wish list” items.  We’ll collect items in March and deliver them in April. Along with delivering the items, MOMs and kids can sign-up to tour the facility that day.

May: Fill a Backpack

Join us at Christ United Methodist Church, where kids get to “shop” in a well-organized storage closet and put pre -packaged food into grocery bags for City of Kettering school children.
