What activities does MOMs offer for moms? For kids?

Our events for adults only are generally offered on Thursday evenings, and include book club, cooking club, MNO (MOMs Night Out), monthly meetings, the Fall Mixer, Spring Fling, and more.

We have some great events for kids too! Check out our weekly playgroup, field trips, and Little Hands Big Hearts community service opportunities!

Do you have events for working moms?

Absolutely! We have weekly evening events, and field trips are planned at different times of the day and on different days of the week.

How old are the kids of members?

There’s no limit on the ages of kids.  MOMs members have children from brand-spanking new babes to those of college age and beyond.  Make sure you check out our Tweens/Teens group!

Our group is comprised of women from all over the Miami Valley area, and we love that! Many of our members live in Oakwood, but we also have members who live in surrounding communities, such as Kettering, Centerville, and Beavercreek.

Do I have to live in Oakwood to join?

No way!  The MOMs of Oakwood holds many fantastic events for moms, caregivers, and their children throughout our year.  We are primarily a group of mothers committed to supporting one another as we raise our children in Oakwood and nearby communities, so please join us at our events!

Is this just a Facebook group?

Glad to hear you’re interested in joining! There is a two-step process to join:

  1. Fill out the online questionnaire

  2. Pay dues

How do I join MOMs ?

Our group communicates via our closed Facebook group. New members are invited to join our Facebook group on the 1st and 15th of each month. If you feel we’ve forgotten about you, don’t hesitate to email us at oakwoodmomspresident@gmail.com.

I filled out the online questionnaire and paid my dues…now what?

Dues help fund various events, such as the Fall Mixer, Spring Fling, and the End-of-the-Year Picnic. Membership dues also help to pay for committee budgets. Additionally, $5 of each member’s dues is designated for use by the Little Hands Big Hearts committee, a charitable arm of MOMs, to be used for community service and charitable causes.

How are dues used?

Great question! We like your spirit.  Please come to one of our wonderful events, such as cooking club, MNO (MOMs Night Out), playgroup, etc. Also, please consider signing up for a committee! Committees are formed toward the end of each membership term. Usually the process of forming committees begins in May and continues through the summer.

How can I get involved in the group?
